At the Board of Public Works meeting on March 14, the Board awarded a bid for the Ironwood Drive Pavement Rehabilitation and Intersection project. Work will include:
– Reconstruction of approximately 600 feet of concrete pavement and signal modernization, including new poles and traffic lights, along Ironwood Drive at Edison Road.
– Mill and overlay of existing asphalt pavement between W Rockne and Oak Park Drives
– Mill and overlay of existing asphalt pavement from Roosevelt Street to State Road 23
The $1.3 million bid was awarded to C & E Excavating, Inc. The project is expected to start in the next 30 days and will be completed by Labor Day. Funding for this project is a result of the Community Crossings Matching Grant, a partnership between the Indiana Department of Transportation and Hoosier communities to invest in infrastructure projects that catalyze economic development, create jobs and strengthen local transportation networks.
The City will be releasing its 2018 paving list in the next few weeks once it assesses damage done to pavement from winter and flooding.
