• East Bank Trail/Riverwalk
  Located along the St. Joseph River. The banks of the East Race offer more than five miles of paved and lighted walking/running paths along the scenic St. Joseph River.
  
  
• East Race Waterway
  Located in the heart of downtown South Bend on the east side of the St. Joseph River at the South Bend dam, the East Race Waterway is a one-of-a-kind recreational facility.  As the first artificial white water course in North America and only one of six in the world, its rapids rival those of the Colorado River and can generate waves up to six feet or higher.  Approximately 2,000 feet long, with a total fall of about 12 feet depending on the flow of the river, the water level can be controlled via three headgates and the placement of obstacles that create whitewater turbulence from novice to professional levels.  Open June through mid-August.
  
  
• Ella Morris and Muessel-Ellison Botanical Conservatories and Potawatomi Greenhouse
  The lush jungle feel of the Morris Conservatory with its large rubber trees, bamboo and citrus trees and the relaxing sound of the small waterfall surrounded by bougainvillea, bird of paradise and many other exotic plants found in the Muessel-Ellsion Conservatory invites visitors to explore nature's beauty.  The Potawatomi Greenhouse features eight growing houses that grow the flowers and plants for three seasonal flower shows and supply the conservatories and South Bend parks.
  
  
• Healthworks! Kids' Museum
  HealthWorks! is a state-of-the art, 12,000 square foot facility, aimed at teaching children, kindergarten through 6th grade, that the choices they make today will impact the quality of life they have tomorrow. Children learn through interactive displays about the human body, innovative computer stations, and challenges about brainpower and senses to reveal important facts about their own skills and talents. HealthWorks! offers 11 different learning tracks for visiting area students, with additional programs on the weekends.

  A nationally top-ranking 2500 seat theater which hosts a variety of performances including symphony, dance, national touring musical concerts, comedians, and Broadway touring performances. • Northern Indiana Center for History
  Beautifully encompassed on 10 acres in the West Washington Historic District of South Bend, the Northern Indiana Center for History includes Copshaholm House Museum, the Center for History, Kid's First Children's Museum, and the Worker's Home Museum. Each unique area of the Northern Indiana Center for History combine fascinating historical presentations of the people and life in the St. Joseph River Valley area, from the prehistoric era to the present.
  

• Palais Royale Ballroom/Banquet Facility
  After remaining closed for 32 years, December 31, 2002, marked the reopening and rebirth of the Palais. A stunning facility with exquisite decor and all the grandeur of the original 1923 ballroom.   The Potawatomi Zoo opened in 1902, making it Indiana's oldest zoo. The zoo is located in a beautiful wooded park and houses 500 animals from all corners of the globe.   The 160 acres of natural woodland in Rum Village Park is a designated nature area.  Many excellent specimens of native trees and a wide selection of flowering and herbaceous plants may be found here.  Such a wooded tract is unique within an urban community.  It is a remnant of the land that once was.... a source of food and shelter for a variety of wildlife and a haven for renewal of the human spirit.
