Preliminary work begins tomorrow, September 24, for the upcoming road re-construction and water main repairs at Boland Drive.  Boland, between Portage and Riverside has been closed since September 14 due to flooding resulting from excessive rainfall at that time.   

The first stage of the work will consist of repairs to the water main including plugging of the two exposed ends of the damaged water main.  Due to the dangerous site conditions, the South Bend Fire Department will be assisting with this effort.  Work will take place from 6am-9am Wednesday.

 Dave Tungate, Water Quality Engineer for South Bend Water Works advises that "there will be no disruption in water service, however, the process may have a minor impact and could cause some discolored water in the areas that were affected last week."
