• Location: Sample St: Chapin St. to Franklin St.
• The work entails demolition of the property commonly known as South Bend Lathe Plant. Access will be maintained to all area businesses. As the project progresses the City will inform the public of upcoming traffic restrictions.
• 5/12 - 6/30 RESTRICTION
• Location: Portage Ave.  Pedestrian Crossings:
• Portage Ave. @ Kinyon St. (west intersection), Queen St., Bulla St., McCartney St. and King St.
• The project includes installation of stamped and colored concrete crosswalks and new ADA ramps at the intersections.
• Portage will remain open. To minimize impact to the neighborhood the intersections will be closed in two phases.
• Access to the above streets will be Kessler Blvd. and Anderson Ave.
  
• 5/12 - 9/12 RESTRICTION
• Location: Ireland Rd. & Miami Street:
• Reconstruction of the intersection, Ornamental street lighting, and sidewalks.
• Lane restrictions will occur during the project.  Access will be maintained to all businesses.
  
• 5/12 - 5/23 CLOSED
• Location: Vaness Street – Burdette Street to Willis Street CLOSED
•  Sewer line installation
• Access to area businesses will be S.R. 23
• Detour:
• Eastbound traffic south on Ivy Road to Edison Rd., east on Edison Rd. to travel back to S.R. 23.
• Westbound traffic south on S.R. 23 to Edison Rd, west on Edison Rd., north on Ivy Road to travel back to Vaness Street.
  
• 5/12 - 5/23 RESTRICTION
• Location: 3700 Block of Portage
• Water tap installation
• Detour: Northbound and southbound lanes will be one lane each direction. (North of Hacienda Restaurant south to Wal-Mart entrance)
• 4/21 - 6/2 CLOSED
• Location: Portage Ave. & Boland Dr.  CLOSED
• Location: Boland Dr. - Portage Ave to Riverside  CLOSED

Some delays may be expected during rush hours.  Motorists are reminded to observe all signage and to drive slowly through the restricted areas.  To avoid any possible delays, using alternate routes is recommended.  We remind motorists that these are Work Zone areas and to please use caution to ensure the safety of the crews working in the construction areas.
