The Division of Economic Development creates and enhances opportunities for private sector development in the community. The Division supports the expansion and retention of business by formulating new development sites and encouraging the reuse of existing facilities. The Division engages in site clearing and Brownfield remediation by utilizing local, state and federal resources.

Additionally, the Division partners with organizations like the Chamber of Commerce of St. Joseph County to retain and recruit businesses to create new jobs and tax base in the community.
